Hong Kong and China Gas' core business in Hong Kong consists of the production and distribution of gas, marketing and sale of gas, the sale of gas appliances, as well as comprehensive after-sales services. With a pipeline network of more than 3,600 km, Hong Kong and China Gas supplies town gas to approximately 1.88 million customers in the territory as at the end of 2017. In recent years, Hong Kong and China Gas is committed to developing new ECO energy and diversified businesses including telecommunications, information technology, civil and building services engineering and manufacturing businesses etc.
Hong Kong and China Gas extended its gas business into mainland China in 1994. As at the end of 2017, the Hong Kong and China Gas Group operates 245 projects across 26 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities on the mainland. These include piped city-gas projects, upstream, midstream and downstream natural gas sectors, water sectors, efficient energy applications and exploration and utilisation of emerging environmentally-friendly energy, as well as telecommunications.
