Three major developers collaborate on Chengdu ICC
Project commencement ceremony held

Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP), Henderson Land and the Wharf group held a ceremony in Chengdu to mark the commencement of work on their joint-venture Chengdu International Commerce Centre (ICC) residential and commercial complex today (May 6). SHKP Vice Chairman and Managing Director Thomas Kwok, Henderson Land Vice Chairman Lee Ka Kit and Executive Director John Yip, Wharf Executive Director Ng Tze Yuen and Managing Director Douglas Woo, and Chengdu government officials attended the event. The project is destined to become a new landmark in the city with international appeal.

The three developers are widely known on the mainland and internationally for their quality, and have built many top commercial and residential developments with premium service in Hong Kong and China, bringing new life and energy to the surroundings. The quality of the three developers is widely recognized in Hong Kong and on the mainland.

Chengdu ICC will be on Dongdajie Financial Street adjacent to the Sha He River, in a premium location with easy access. It will be linked directly to a station on the number two subway line under construction, and the proposed number nine subway line just two stops from Sha He Bo high-speed rail station will offer even more convenience.

The site measures 2.15 million square feet (200,000 square metres) and will accommodate over 13 million square feet (1.2 million square metres) of gross floor area. The development will have two 280-metre towers creating an iconic gateway in Chengdu, along with an up-market shopping mall, grade-A offices, five-star hotel, luxury serviced apartments and deluxe residences along with comprehensive community facilities. The developers' combined expertise in construction and dedication to quality will make Chengdu ICC an outstanding project and a new centre for business, shopping, dining and living.

A Chengdu government representative said: "We are very pleased to have SHKP, Henderson and Wharf involved in the project on Dongdajie Financial Street. The discount developers are noted for building first-class projects and Chengdu will be fortunate to benefit from their vast experience. This development will spur business and retail growth in the city and be a distinctive new feature of Chengdu and in southwest China, enhancing Dongdajia's status as a financial centre in Chengdu."

The development will have an international planning concept with an emphasis on the relationship between people, the city and the environment. Its opulent appearance and variety of material textures and colours will present distinctive look in harmony with the adjacent Tazishan Park and scenic Sha He River and add an exceptional sightseeing spot in Chengdu.
