Henderson Land Launches the "Henderson Sports" Campus Programme Bringing Sports Courses to 30 Schools Across Hong Kong In Celebration of the National Games

Henderson Land Development Company Limited (“Henderson Land” or “the Group”) (Stock code: 12) is dedicated to supporting local sports development, including the establishment of the "HKU Lee Shau Kee Top Athletes Scholarship". In celebration to the upcoming 15th National Games of the People’s Republic of China (NG), the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities (NGD) and the 9th National Special Olympics Games (NSOG), which will be held in Hong Kong this November, the Group has partnered with GDCD Association Limited (GDCD), a youth sports charity, to launch the "Henderson Sports" Campus Programme. This initiative will provide sports courses in 30 primary and secondary schools across Hong Kong to inspire students' passion for sports, while identifying and nurturing young athletic talent.

Following the enthusiastic response to last year’s summer sports programmes, which provided secondary school students with the opportunity to explore a diverse range of sports, the Group is pleased to launch the "Henderson Sports" Campus Programme this year. The initiative will be extended to 30 primary and secondary schools across Hong Kong, with approximately 600 students participating in the courses from September to November. Each school will receive four professionally coached sessions, covering both official National Games sports hosted in Hong Kong, such as the Rugby Sevens, Fencing, Beach Volleyball and Handball, and emerging sports, like Pickleball, Lacrosse and Floor Curling. The programme aims to inspire  interest in sports and identify and nurture promising young athletic talent.

The "Henderson Sports" Campus Programme, which was officially kicked off today, featured two-time Asian Games gold medalist and Hong Kong rugby sevens representative Salom Yiu Kam-shing as coach. He personally taught approximately 120 students the fundamental skills and game rules of the rugby sevens, shared insights into his professional sports journey, and encouraged the students to face challenge with perseverance and pursue their dreams with determination.

In addition to campus programme, Henderson Land is extending the excitement of National Games to the broader community. A series of sports-themed exhibitions, along with live and relay broadcasts of the competitions, will be held in the Group’s shopping malls to rally the city to celebrate Hong Kong’s major sporting events together.
