“HENDERSON LAND x CJ HENDRY FLOWER MARKET” FULLY REGISTERED AHEAD OF ITS ASIAN DEBUT WITH COMMUNITY AND SHARED JOY AT ITS HEART Immersive installation captivates Hong Kong as Henderson Land celebrates its 50th anniversary with a citywide celebration of art, inclusion and giving back
Organised by Pen & Paper and proudly presented by Henderson Land, the “Henderson Land x Cj Hendry Flower Market” has received an overwhelming public response ahead of its Asian debut at the Central Harbourfront from 19 to 22 March 2026, with all public sessions fully registered in less than a day after the event was announced. The remarkable response reflects strong public anticipation for this unique immersive experience, which will open as the first large-scale event of Hong Kong Art Month.
As part of Henderson Land’s 50th anniversary celebrations, the Group has extended the spirit of the occasion beyond a landmark art experience to foster wider community engagement and social impact. Ahead of the public opening, Henderson Land welcomed 160 children and seniors as the installation’s first guests, creating a joyful shared experience designed to inspire wonder across generations. The initiative reflects the Group’s longstanding commitment to giving back to the community and its belief in the power of art to uplift, connect and create meaningful shared memories.
The Hong Kong edition features more than 26 whimsical plush flower designs. Visitors begin their journey through a lush hedge maze, where giant floral sculptures emerge from the greenery, before entering a greenhouse-style pavilion brimming with a fantastical sea of plush flowers. The presentation is further distinguished by two bespoke Hong Kong commissions: the “Henderson Flower” (the Allium) and the “Bauhinia”.
Selected as the “Henderson Flower”, the allium symbolises unity, strength and resilience, embodying Henderson Land’s deep-rooted heritage and continued progress over the past 50 years. It also echoes “Allium”, the large-scale sculpture installed in the Art Garden beside The Henderson in tribute to the Group’s founder, Dr Lee Shau-kee. The work further incorporates the signature “Henderson Green”, underscoring the brand’s distinctive colour identity. The “Bauhinia”, meanwhile, pays homage to Hong Kong’s emblem. Its floral form also resonates with the architectural lines of The Henderson, the Group’s flagship commercial landmark, revealing a seamless connection between artistic expression and architectural aesthetics.
“I’m thrilled that Flower Market is making its Asia debut in Hong Kong. I find flowers to be wonderfully simple and special; they evoke a childlike sense of joy and fun. Each flower crafted is a thoughtful design, meticulously tailored to reflect the essence of the regions they represent,” said Cj Hendry. “This is not merely art; it is a celebration of the locality, capturing the spirit and identity of each specific area.” The greenhouse invites visitors to lose themselves in a vibrant, childlike environment—a temporary sanctuary of wonder—before returning to city life. “Why are there so many flowers? And why are they all fake? It’s a playful, childlike adventure and then you exit back into real life,” explains Hendry. “I hope the Flower Market inspires joy and beauty well after the greenhouse is empty, every time we see flowers – plush or otherwise.”
Complementing the experience, Peridot, the acclaimed bar located at The Henderson, will offer a curated selection of its signature delicacies including Vegan Chorizo Taco alongside the “Henderson Mocktail”, two exclusive items available only at the Flower Market, adding a distinctive culinary dimension to the visitor experience.
