Henderson Land Group Pledges Full Support for the HKSAR Government’s Strive and Rise Programme
With a longstanding commitment to youth development, Henderson Land Group will fully support the HKSAR Government’s Strive and Rise Programme, in hopes of helping underprivileged students broaden their horizons, bolster their self-confidence, develop a positive outlook on life and set goals for their future.
Henderson Land Group has been appointed as Vice‑Chairperson of the Programme’s Partners’ Board. Dr. Peter Lee Ka-kit, Chairman of the Group, recently attended the first meeting of the Partners’ Board, during which he exchanged his views with different strategic partners and shared his vision. Dr. Lee said: “The Programme carries special significance as it brings together the Government, the business sector and the wider community to support students from underprivileged families and to help them broaden their horizons and strive for upward mobility. As a member of the business sector, Henderson Land will spare no effort to support and take forward the Programme. I hope that all sectors of the community can join forces to nurture future talent for Hong Kong, and that all student mentees can grasp this opportunity to improve and equip themselves for the challenges ahead and to pursue their dreams without fear.”
The Group’s support for the Programme includes:
Contributing a total of HK$25 million through the Lee Shau Kee Foundation;
Nominating about 280 people as Programme mentors, around 90 of whom are from the Group’s companies (including Henderson Land, Towngas, Miramar Group, Hong Kong Ferry and Well Born Real Estate Management) and around 190 from the Centum Charitas Foundation, which is chaired by Dr. Peter Lee Ka-kit, Chairman of the Group;
Providing a series of group activities and experiences, such as visits to the Towngas headquarters, Hong Kong Ferry’s shipyards, the Kong Ha Wai Transitional Housing Project and the Kong Ha Wai Mansion (a Grade 3 historic building under restoration by the Group).
